Javanese tumeric (Curcuma xanthorrhiza), pink and blue ginger (Curcuma aeruginosa), Gandarusa (Justicia gendarussa), and caricature plant (Graptophyllum pictum) are medicinal plants that have potential as antioxidants. This study aims to analyze the effects of hydrolysis and different boiling times on total phenolic content and antioxidant activity. The treatments carried out in the extraction were boiling for 15 minutes, boiling for 30 minutes and hydrolysis. This study used the Folin-Ciocalteu method to determine total phenolic content and the Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) method to determine antioxidant activity. The results showed that the highest total phenolic content was obtained from the purple leaf plant with a hydrolysis treatment of 43.17 Mg GAE/g. The antioxidant activity of the gandarusa plant with a 30-minute boil showed the highest results with 99.51 mmol TE/g DW.
