Weed control from the early stage of cultivation is an important step to maintain crop productivity, especially in dryland conditions. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different propeller nozzle blade configurations on the performance of pre-emergence herbicide spraying using a mist blower. Tests were conducted on three propeller nozzle configurations (8, 10, and 12 blades) to determine spray discharge, spray angle, effective swath width, droplet size, and droplet density, followed by field experiments to evaluate weed control effectiveness. The results showed that the 12-blade configuration provided the most optimal performance, producing droplets of 154.66 µm in diameter, a density of 300 droplets/cm², an effective spray width of 128 cm, and a discharge rate of 1.36 L/min. In the field test, this configuration reduced weed growth by up to 80.43% and maintained uniform solution distribution on the soil surface. The 12-blade configuration achieved the most efficient pre-emergence herbicide application with an output capacity of 1942.86 L/ha and an application cost of Rp 33,393/ha.
