| dc.description.abstract | Gula aren bubuk merupakan salah satu produk olahan yang banyak digunakan dalam industri pangan, namun proses pengayakan secara manual masih menjadi kendala karena membutuhkan waktu lama dan tenaga yang besar, serta menghasilkan kualitas ayakan yang tidak konsisten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membuat mesin pengayak gula aren bubuk dengan kapasitas tinggi dan efisiensi waktu yang lebih baik dibandingkan metode manual. Proses penelitian meliputi tahap perencanaan desain mekanik, pemilihan komponen, perakitan, dan pengujian kinerja. Mesin dirancang dengan sistem getar menggunakan poros eksentrik yang digerakkan motor listrik berdaya 0,5 HP, dengan kecepatan optimal 141 dan 157 RPM. Pada RPM 141 hasil uji menunjukkan mesin mampu mengayak 180 kg jam?¹ dan RPM 157 menunjukkan hasil uji 360 kg jam?¹ dengan peningkatan efisiensi sebesar 95% dibandingkan pengayakan manual hanya 17,4 kg jam?¹. Tingkat kehilangan bahan (losses) sangat rendah, yaitu rata-rata 2 gram, serta menghasilkan kualitas ayakan yang seragam. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, mesin pengayak ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan kapasitas, menghemat waktu, dan menjaga kualitas produk, sehingga berpotensi diterapkan pada skala produksi yang lebih besar. | - |
| dc.description.abstract | Powdered palm sugar is widely used in the food industry, yet manual sifting remains a major challenge due to its long processing time, high labor demand, and inconsistent product quality. This study aims to design and develop a powdered palm sugar sifting machine with higher capacity and improved time efficiency compared to manual methods. The research process involved mechanical design planning, component selection, assembly, and performance testing. The machine was designed with a vibrating system using an eccentric shaft driven by a 0.5 HP electric motor, operating optimally at 141 and 157 RPM. At 141 RPM, the test results showed that the machine was able to sift 180 kg hour?¹, while at 157 RPM it achieved 360 kg hour?¹, representing an efficiency improvement of approximately 95% compared to manual sifting, which only reached 17.4 kg hour?¹. Material losses were minimal, averaging only 2 grams, while maintaining uniform sifting quality. Based on these results, the developed sifting machine has proven to increase capacity, save time, and preserve product quality, making it suitable for larger-scale production applications. | - |
