dc.description.abstractUpwelling di Laut Banggai, Sulawesi Tengah, membawa massa air kaya nutrien yang memengaruhi komunitas zooplankton. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi genus zooplankton serta menganalisis kelimpahan dan struktur komunitasnya. Sampel dikumpulkan dari tiga stasiun pengamatan oleh tim ekspedisi BUDEE 2022 menggunakan jaring plankton 500 µm yang ditarik vertikal dari kedalaman 150 m. Analisis dilakukan dengan metode sub-sampling sebanyak 5 mL secara homogen, dengan tiga ulangan per stasiun. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan 13 genus zooplankton dari lima kelas, yaitu Calanus, Oithona, Macrosetella, Euchirella, Oncaea, Sapphirina, Euphasia, Spirocodon, Salpa, Parafavella, Undella, Globigerina, dan Orbulina. Komposisi genus bervariasi di setiap stasiun: Calanus dominan di Stasiun 1, Spirocodon di Stasiun 2, dan Globigerina di Stasiun 3. Upwelling diduga meningkatkan kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman zooplankton, menandakan perairan ini sebagai wilayah produktif secara ekologis.-
dc.description.abstractUpwelling in the Banggai Sea, Central Sulawesi, brings nutrient-rich water to the surface, influencing local zooplankton communities. This study aimed to identify zooplankton genera and assess their abundance and community structure. Sampling was conducted at three stations during the BUDEE 2022 expedition using a 500?µm mesh plankton net, towed vertically from a depth of 150?m. A 5?mL sub-sample was taken homogeneously using a dropper and analyzed in triplicate. Thirteen zooplankton genera were identified across five classes: Copepoda, Hydrozoa, Appendicularia, Ciliophora, and Foraminifera. Genus composition varied among stations: Calanus dominated Station 1, Spirocodon was most abundant at Station 2, and Globigerina prevailed at Station 3. Other commonly found genera included Oithona, Oncaea, Euchirella, and Parafavella. The upwelling process likely enhances zooplankton abundance and diversity, highlighting the ecological productivity and significance of the Banggai Sea as a biologically rich marine region.-
