Benih Dramaga.-
Solar energy is a promising option for fulfilling electricity demand due to its vast potential and the declining cost of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This study aimed to design and analyze the technical and economic feasibility of PV systems in solar power plant as electricity source for seed production. The study was conducted at CV. Benih Dramaga in Bogor. The methodology included measurements of solar irradiation and daily electricity consumption, components sizing, and simulations using PVsyst software, encompassing both techno-economic and technical feasibility analyses. Four system scenarios were developed based on the areas that need electricity, and compared across three types of PV systems, namely on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid. The results showed that off-grid and hybrid PV systems were technically and economically unfeasible. In contrast, on-grid PV system with 3 scenarios of 1.8 kWp, 1.15 kWp, and 0.9 kWp capacities yielded positive net present values, with the highest return on investment of 127%, shortest payback period of 8.2 years, and smallest levelized cost of electricity of Rp931/kWh, assuming a 25-year project lifetime. Technically, all three scenarios achieved a performance ratio above 70%. Therefore, all three on-grid PV systems are feasible for implementation at CV. Benih Dramaga.-
