| Abstract: | Pabrik tahu menghasilkan air limbah tahu yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan jika dibuang tanpa dikelola terlebih dahulu. Tofu factories produce tofu wastewater, which can pollute the environment if disposed of without prior treatment. This study aims to determine the proper composition of activated carbon pellets for reducing BOD, COD, TSS levels, and stabilizing the pH of tofu wastewater. Activated carbon pellet were made from corn husks and coconut shells through carbonization, activation and pelletizing processes. Tofu wastewater was treated through coagulation and filtration using activated carbon pellet as the filter media. The results showed that the coagulation and filtration processes could reduce TSS by 81,89%, COD by 76,93%, BOD by 77,04%, and increase the pH from 3,53 to 6,72. A simple additive weighting analysis determined that treatment P3, consisiting of 50% coconut shell activated carbon and 50% corn husk activated carbon, is the best composition for reducing pollutant levels. In conclusion, activated carbon pellets can increase filtration effectiveness, but further processing is needed in the wastewater treatment process to provide optimal results. |
