dc.description.abstractIndustri batik menghasilkan air limbah yang mengandung logam berat seperti kromium. Logam berat kromium dapat menyebabkan reaksi alergi, efek mutagenik, teratogenik, dan karsinogenik pada manusia. Adsorpsi menggunakan adsorben seperti cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa) yang kaya akan kalsium karbonat dapat dijadikan adsorben alami dan ramah lingkungan. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi karakteristik cangkang kerang darah tanpa aktivasi dan teraktivasi secara fisik serta menentukan massa optimal bubuk cangkang kerang untuk adsorpsi kromium pada air limbah batik. Proses adsorpsi dilakukan dengan metode batch reactor dengan variasi massa adsorben (110 mg, 210 mg, dan 320 mg) pada 50 ml air limbah batik dengan pH 2 selama 120 menit pengadukan dengan kecepatan 150 rpm. Cangkang kerang darah yang diaktivasi cocok sebagai adsorben kromium karena mengandung kalsium karbonat (CaCO3) dan memiliki luas permukaan lebih besar. Cangkang kerang darah tanpa aktivasi tidak efektif sebagai adosorben, sedangkan yang diaktivasi pada massa 110 mg, optimal untuk menyerap logam berat kromium dengan efisiensi 66,25%.-
dc.description.abstractThe batik industry produces wastewater containing heavy metals, such as chromium. These heavy metals can cause allergic reactions and have mutagenic, teratogenic, and carcinogenic effects on humans. Adsorption using natural, environmentally friendly adsorbents, such as blood clam shells (Anadara granosa), which are rich in calcium carbonate, is an alternative method. This study aims to identify the characteristics of blood clam shells, both activated and unactivated, and to determine the optimal mass of blood clam shell powder for chromium adsorption in batik wastewater. The adsorption process was carried out using a batch reactor method with variations in adsorbent mass (110, 210, and 320 mg) in 50 mL of batik wastewater with a pH of 2. The mixture was stirred for 120 minutes at 150 rpm. Activated blood clam shells are suitable chromium adsorbents because they contain calcium carbonate and have a larger surface area. Unactivated blood clam shells are ineffective as adsorbents however, those activated at a mass of 110 mg are optimal for absorbing chromium with 66,25% efficiency.-
