Abstract: TIFANY CLAUDYA SIALLAGAN.
TIFANY CLAUDYA SIALLAGAN. Production Optimization Analysis of Lettuce across Different Varieties and Growing Media to Enhance the Profitability of CV RB Farm. Supervised by DAHRI TANJUNG. CV RB Farm reached its highest productivity level of 8.321 kg in 2024, but it still has the potential production capacity of up to 17.676 – 26.520 kg per year. This condition results in relatively limited profits and suboptimal cost efficiency. To improve business performance, three lettuce varieties (Captiva, Kriebo, and Seriti) and two growing media (rockwool and sponge) were tested under the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) system. The analysis employed Two-Way ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT), and multiple linear regression to evaluate the main effects and interactions of the treatments on yield weight, harvest time, and postharvest losses. The results showed that variety had a significant effect on yield weight and harvest time, while the growing media significantly affected harvest time and postharvest losses. The interaction between the two factors was significant for yield weight and postharvest losses. The combination of Captiva–rockwool produced the highest yield weight (34,825 g), the lowest postharvest loss (3.025%), and increased profits by up to 64%. The R/C ratio increased from 2.16–2.21 to 2.96–3.03, while the B/C ratio rose from 1.21 to 2.03. Keywords : Lettuce, optimization, variety, growing media, profitability
