Abstract: Kebutuhan kayu pinus di Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan seiring dengan berkembangnya industri berbahan baku kayu seperti industri pulp, kertas dan konstruksi ringan.
The demand for pine wood in Indonesia continues to increase along with the development of wood-based industries such as pulp, paper, and light construction. Perum Perhutani, as one of the main producers of pine wood in Indonesia, plays a role in meeting the demand for wood supply. To encourage optimal production increases, Perhutani needs to pay attention to production costs. This study was conducted by measuring tree volume and working time for each element of felling and splitting, thus obtaining productivity and production costs. The purpose of this study was to calculate the productivity and cost of felling pine trees using a chainsaw at the Cepoko RPH, Lawu Village Forest Management Unit, East Java. Data collection was conducted through direct field observations and interviews with tree cutters in the field. The average productivity of felling and splitting activities was 6,52 m3/hour for operator 1 and 9,27 m3/hour for operator 2. Meanwhile, the operating costs incurred in felling and splitting activities were Rp43.321,33/m3 for operator 1 and Rp39.278,32/m3 for operator 2.
