Abstract: Village Forest (VF) of Lubuk Birah in Lubuk Birah Village, Muara Siau District, Merangin Regency. The certainty of the existence of plant biodiversity in the Lubuk Birah VF area, especially protected and rare ones, is unknown. Therefore, research on plant biodiversity in the area is necessary. This study aims to identify habitat conditions and plant biodiversity in the Lubuk Birah VF area. The plant species richness found in the Lubuk Birah VF area is 111 species that can be grouped into 57 families. Based on its location, the highest plant species richness is found in transect 3 (54 species and 31 families) and the least is found in transect 4 (25 species and 19 families). The Shanon diversity index for seedling and undergrowth growth levels was 2.238 - 2.905, saplings 1.192 - 2.850, poles 1.301 - 2.586, and trees 0.348 - 2.575, and epiphytes and others 0.000 - 1.843. The ecosystem type that had the lowest species diversity index at all growth levels was transect 4. This indicates that the mixed dipterocarp forest ecosystem or hills on metamorphic rocks with mixed garden land cover in the Lubuk Birah VF area are poor in tree vegetation types. The dominant plant species in the shrub land cover are Pometia pinnata, Diospyros bantamensis, Artocarpus elasticus, Spaerostephanis penniger, and Stenochlaena palustris; mixed garden land cover is Hevea brasiliensis, Alstonia scholaris, Coffea robusta, Beilschmiedia maingayi, and Gigantochloa apus; and secondary dryland forest cover is Shorea javanica, Campnosperma auriculata, Artocarpus elasticus, Stachyphrynium borneense, Stenochlaena palustris, Dehaasia firma, Gomphia serrata, Parastemon urophyllum, Dillenia excelsa, and Calamus ciliaris. The plant species with the highest density in shrub land cover are Pometia pinnata, Diospyros bantamensis, Artocarpus elasticus, Spaerostephanis penniger, and Stenochlaena palustris; mixed garden land cover is Hevea brasiliensis, Coffea robusta, Beilschmiedia maingayi, and Gigantochloa apus; and secondary dryland forest cover is Campnosperma auriculata, Artocarpus elasticus, Macaranga triloba, Gomphia serrata, Parastemon urophyllum, Dillenia excelsa, Stachyphrynium borneense, Stenochlaena palustris and Calamus ciliaris. Based on its protection status, in the Lubuk Birah HD area, no protected plant species were found according to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry (Permen LHK) No. P.106 of 2018 and/or endemic; however, 2 plant species were found that are included in the CITES Appendix II List, 36 species are included in the LC/Least Concern category, 4 species are included in the NT/Near Threatened category, 3 plant species are included in the VU/Vulnerable category, 3 plant species are included in the EN/Endangered category, and 1 plant species is included in the CR/Critically Endangered category according to the IUCN.
