Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) are among the most important insect pests due to their extensive host range, particularly in horticultural crops. Their occurrence on plantation crops, however, remains poorly studied. This research investigated fruit fly species associated with Arabica coffee in Bandung Regency using both morphological and molecular approaches. Coffee berries were sampled from three districts and reared until adult emergence. Species were identified through morphological examination with Lucid Key and relevant literature, and confirmed molecularly by PCR amplification of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (mtCOI) gene. Fruit flies emerged only from berries collected in Pangalengan and Ibun, all belonging to the Bactrocera dorsalis complex. Sequence analysis revealed 99.65% similarity with B. dorsalis records from Australia, the United States, and China. These findings provide the first evidence from Java that Arabica coffee can act as a host for B. dorsalis, emphasizing the need for monitoring and further study of its potential impacts.-
