The byproduct of the shallot oil extraction process at PT XYZ is solid waste with a high fat content that has the potential to pollute the environment. Composting was chosen as a solution because it is a solid waste processing method that can produce compost and degrade oil. This study aims to see the effect of adding EM 4 bioactivator and lignoltic bacteria on the composting process of red onion dregs. Composting was carried out by observing the effect of maintaining moisture content, adding EM bioactivator without lignolytic bacteria, and adding lignolytic bacteria. This composting method used aeration and stirring every 12 hours. This study used organic C, total N, C/N ratio, pH, and fat content as comparisons for the composting rate. The analysis results showed that formulation Y3 (using onion pulp, lime, EM4, lignolytic bacteria, and moisture content control) provided the best results. This formulation produced the lowest carbon content, the highest degraded fat content (81.30%), and a pH value closest to neutral (6.18). This indicates that the combination of EM4 and lignolytic bacteria, supported by optimal aeration and moisture content, effectively accelerates the decomposition rate of lignin and oil
