The Payakumbuh Regional Final Disposal Site (TPA), which began operating in 2013, served the City of Payakumbuh, the City of Bukittinggi, Limapuluh Kota Regency, and Agam Regency. Payakumbuh City generated approximately 93.35 tons of waste per day, of which organic waste dominated at 92.58%, while inorganic waste accounted for 7.43%. The closure of the Payakumbuh Regional Landfill significantly affected the environment, economy, and social conditions of the community, particularly in South Payakumbuh District. The research findings indicate that: (1) The community’s overall perception of the landfill closure scored an average of 2.04, indicating a poor or negative perception; (2) The estimated economic losses due to the closure amounted to IDR 300,154,640.00; (3) These losses prompted collaborative mitigation efforts between the community and the government through education, independent waste management, alternative economic training, and the development of more sustainable waste management systems. The research employed descriptive analysis with a Likert scale to measure community perceptions, the cost of illness method to assess the economic impact of increased healthcare costs, and income analysis to evaluate the decline in earnings among scavengers and other informal sectors.-
