Abstract: ABSTRAK MUHAMMAD KHALIL AR RASYID JAMIL.
ABSTRACT MUHAMMAD KHALIL AR RASYID JAMIL. Effect of Attractant Concentration Differences on the Population of Coffee Berry Borer (Hypothenemus hampei) in Robusta Coffee Plantation at Bangelan Estate. Supervised by AGIEF JULIO PRATAMA. Robusta coffee is one of Indonesia’s main plantation commodities, whose production often declines due to coffee berry borer (CBB) infestation. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of various ethanol and methanol attractant ratios in reducing CBB populations at Bangelan Estate, PTPN I Regional 5. The experiment was carried out from September to October 2024 using a Randomized Complete Block Design with four treatments: control (P0), ethanol:methanol 1:1 (P1), 2:1 (P2), and 1:2 (P3), each replicated five times to obtain 20 experimental units. Treatment P1 recorded the highest trap catch (95.2 individuals) and the lowest infestation rate (8.8%), while the control showed the highest infestation (35.2%). Temperature ranged from 27.9–33.3°C, with peak CBB activity at 27–30°C. The 1:1 attractant ratio was the most effective in reducing pest population and attack intensity, and is recommended to support integrated pest management (IPM) in robusta coffee plantations. Keywords: coffee berry borer, ethanol, methanol, robusta coffee
