Indonesia is a developing country with complex nutritional problems, one of which is stunting. Stunting is a state of malnutrition in children that causes stunted growth, and generally occurs at the age of 0–5 years. Many factors can cause stunting, these factors are divided into two, namely direct factors and indirect factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in children aged 6–59 months in Central Papua. This study used a cross-sectional study design based on secondary data from SKI 2023 involving 769 subjects aged 6–59 months in Central Papua. The results showed that factors associated with the incidence of stunting in Central Papua included type of water supply for drinking (p=<0.001), ownership of a toilet (p=0.033), and ownership of health insurance (p=<0.001). However, there was no association between age, gender, LBW, mother's education, father's education, mother's occupation, father's occupation, colostrum feeding practices, exclusive breastfeeding practices, complementary feeding practices, MCH book utilization, basic immunization practices, diarrhea incidence, and ARI incidence with stunting (p-value > 0.05). |
