Recreational fishing has been practiced by fishers in Karangantu, Banten Province, but remains unmanaged under existing regulations. The management of this fishery requires detailed data and information on recreational fishing. This study aims to describe recreational fishing activities, the provision of fish aggregating devices (FADs) for tourism, and to develop a monitoring model for recreational fishing in Karangantu. Data were collected through interviews with 22 recreational fishers, 4 tourist groups, and observations of 11 recreational fishing vessels, and analyzed descriptively. The results show that tourism operators rent boats to tourists for sea fishing, with fishing locations determined by the position of FADs. A cooperative pattern was observed in FAD provision. A monitoring model is presented in a flow diagram containing the types of data, methods of data collection and processing, stakeholders involved, and monthly reports as the final output, which is expected to support the management of recreational fishing in this area and across the country.
