| Abstract: | Teknik flushing dengan pakan tinggi energi dapat mengoptimalkan BCS induk domba menjelang reproduksi. Cassamore yang merupakan campuran dari tepung singkong (70%), daun singkong (12%), bungkil kelapa (18%), dan ekstrak kelor (2%), menjadi alternatif jagung yang produksinya menurun. Kandungan serat pada cassamore dioptimalkan melalui proses ekstrusi sehingga kualitas nutriennya meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi sifat dan kualitas fisik, akseptabilitas dan kadar kolesterol darah domba yang diberi pelet flushing domba berbasis cassamore dan cassamore ekstrusi sebagai substitusi bahan pakan jagung. Metode penelitian rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) digunakan dengan 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan (P0 = Pelet berbasis jagung; P1 = Pelet berbasis cassamore; P2 = pelet berbasis cassamore ekstrusi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pelet berbasis jagung, cassamore, maupun cassamore ekstrusi memiliki sifat dan kualitas fisik, serta akseptabilitas yang sama, sedangkan kadar kolesterol darah domba yang diberi pelet berbasis cassamore maupun cassamore ekstrusi relatif lebih rendah dibandingkan pelet berbasis jagung. Disimpulkan cassamore maupun cassamore ekstrusi dapat menggantikan penggunaan jagung dalam pelet flushing domba. Pemberian pelet flushing berbasis 29,74% cassamore maupun cassamore ekstrusi selama 7 hari belum dapat meningkatkan kadar kolesterol darah pada domba, sehingga perlu penambahan karbohidrat untuk dijadikan sebagai pakan flushing untuk reproduksi. The flushing technique using high-energy feed can optimize the body condition score (BCS) of ewes before reproduction. Cassamore, a mix of cassava flour (70%), cassava leaves (12%), coconut meal (18%), and moringa extract (2%) serves as an alternative to corn, which is increasingly scarce. The cassamore’s high fiber is improved via extrusion to enhance nutritional value. This study evaluated the physical qualities, acceptability, and blood cholesterol levels in sheep given cassamore-based and extruded cassamore-based pellets as corn substitutes, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications (P0 = corn-based; P1 = cassamore-based; P2 = extruded cassamore-based pellets). All pellets showed similar physical quality and palatability, while cassamore-treated groups had lower blood cholesterol than the corn group. Thus, both cassamore and extruded cassamore can replace corn in flushing pellets. It can be concluded feeding 29.74% cassamore-based pellets for 7 days did not increase blood cholesterol, indicating the need for additional carbohydrate sources for optimal flushing feed. |
