Abstract: Pengaturan populasi tanaman dengan jarak tanam penting dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman jagung manis.
Plant population management with planting distance is important to increase sweet corn productivity. This research aims to evaluate the influence of varieties, planting populations, and the interaction between the two on the performance and yield of sweet corn. The research was conducted at the Pasir Kuda PKHT experimental garden, Bogor, West Java from October 2024 to January 2025. The research consisted of two factors, variety and population. Planting used a split-plot RKLT with three replications consisting of 40 plants (P1) and 53 plants (P2) per experimental unit. The results showed that the sweet corn varieties used significantly affected performance and yield. The plant population of P1 (62.500 plants ha-1) and P2 (83.300 plants ha-1) did not significantly affect performance and yield in five sweet corn varieties. The interaction between variety and planting population did not significantly affect performance and yield in five sweet corn varieties. The Madu-59 variety had the highest productivity value compared to other varieties (21,06 ton ha-1). The P1 planting population (62.500 plants ha-1) is more recommended because it is efficient in seed use, pesticide spraying and labor costs.
