Abstract: PT.
PT XYZ is handling glyceryne pitch (GP) waste generated from a by-product of the biodiesel production process. The high chlorine content in this waste causes rejection by the cement industry, as well as creates storage and distribution burdens. This project aims to design a GPCC production process through carbonization namely microwave-assisted carbonization (MAC), as well as handling of liquid waste to reduce polluting parameters in accordance with the quality standards of Permen LHK No. 6 of 2021. The GPCC production process produces waste from the carbonization process and neutralization in the form of liquid waste. The GPCC process liquid waste treatment is carried out with a combination of neutralization, coagulation using PAC (15 and 30 mg/L), sedimentation, and filtration. The treatment results show that the parameters are within the quality standard threshold (pH 6,5, TSS 10,7-12 mg/L and TDS 1320-1610 mg/L), except for COD which still exceeds the limit (2478-2508 mg/L), so further chemical-physical treatment is required such as ozonation, adsorption and filtration, as well as the addition of biological treatment.
