dc.description.abstractKarakteristik morfologi buah kakao (Theobroma cacao L.) setiap klon berbeda begitu juga dengan kualitasnya pada setiap cabang. Oleh karena itu, penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh klon dan posisi cabang terhadap karakteristik morfologi meliputi panjang buah, diameter, ketebalan kulit, bobot kulit buah, bobot buah, jumlah biji per pod, bobot biji per pod, bobot kering biji per pod, bobot 100 biji, persentase fruit set, layu pentil, serta laju pertumbuhan. Penelitian dilakukan di Badan Standardisasi dan Instrumen Pertanian (BSIP) Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar, Sukabumi, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan survei kondisi tanaman dengan membandingkan tiga klon, yaitu MCC 02, Scavina 6, dan ICCRI 08H pada cabang primer dan sekunder. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Tukey taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa posisi buah pada cabang primer menghasilkan karakteristik morfologi dan kualitas buah lebih tinggi pada cabang primer dibandingkan cabang sekunder, namun jenis cabang tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan buah, fruit set dan tingkat layu pentil. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya strategi pengelolaan cabang dalam sistem budidaya kakao untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas hasil panen.
dc.description.abstractThe morphological characteristics of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) fruits vary among clones as does their quality depending on branch position. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the effect of clones and branch position on morphological characteristics, including fruit length, diameter, skin thickness, fruit skin weight, fruit weight, number of seeds per pod, seed weight per pod, dry seed weight per pod, the weight of 100 seeds, fruit set percentage, cherelle wilt, and growth rate. The research was conducted at the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Instruments Standardization (BSIP) for Industrial and Beverage Crops, Sukabumi, West Java. This study used a field survey by comparing three clones, MCC 02, Scavina 6, and ICCRI 08H, on primary and secondary branches. Data were analyzed using Tukey's test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the primary branches on each clone produced fruits with superior morphological characteristics and quality compared to secondary branches, meanwhile, branch type had no significant effect on fruit growth rate, fruit set, or cherelle wilt incidence. These results emphasize the importance of branch management strategies in cacao cultivation systems to enhance productivity and fruit quality.
