| dc.description.abstract | Jagung (Zea mays L.) secara umum merupakan tanaman multiguna yang banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pangan maupun pakan, sedangkan jagung manis (Z. mays subsp. saccharata) lebih banyak dikonsumsi sebagai sayuran. Bulai atau embun bulu yang disebabkan oleh suatu patogen dari kelompok pseudofungi Oomycota adalah penyakit yang sangat merugikan pada tanaman jagung dan menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab rendahnya produktivitas di Indonesia. Infeksi penyakit ini dapat menyebabkan kehilangan hasil yang nyata karena gejalanya bersifat total. Pemantauan berkala penyakit ini di lapangan, baik perkembangannya secara temporal maupun spasial perlu dilakukan sebagai dasar untuk pengambilan keputusan pengendalian dan prediksi kehilangan hasil. Penelitian ini bertujuan identifikasi spesies patogen, menentukan pola distribusi temporal dan spasial penyakit bulai pada tanaman jagung serta hubungannya dengan tingkat kehilangan hasil. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kebun percobaan AELEFA Institut Pertanian Bogor, Kecamatan Dramaga, Kabupaten Bogor. Pengamatan dilakukan pada 434 tanaman jagung yang ditanam di lahan seluas 100 m2. Sampel propagul patogen dikumpulkan dari daun bergejala di lapangan untuk identifikasi morfologi dan molekuler. Peubah pengamatan meliputi intensitas penyakit selama 9 minggu, perkembangan vegetatif tanaman, dan hasil panen. Patogen penyakit bulai teridentifikasi secara morfologi sebagai Peronosclerospora maydis. Perkembangan penyakit baik insidensi maupun severitas selama 9 minggu membentuk kurva sigmoid dan menunjukkan pola spasial acak dengan masing-masing nilai luas area di bawah kurva perkembangan penyakit (AUDPC) berturut-turut 124 dan 109. Nilai insidensi dan severitas penyakit mencapai 23%. Bulai tergolong sebagai penyakit yang menyebabkan kehilangan hasil total ketika suatu tanaman terinfeksi patogennya. | - |
| dc.description.abstract | Corn (Zea mays L.) is generally a multipurpose plant that is widely used as raw material for food and feed, while sweet corn (Z. mays subsp. saccharata) is more commonly consumed as a vegetable. Downy mildew, caused by a pathogen from the Oomycota pseudofungi group, is a highly detrimental disease of corn plants and is a contributing factor to low productivity in Indonesia. Infection with this disease can cause significant yield losses due to its total symptoms. Regular monitoring of this disease development in the field, both temporally and spatially, is necessary as a basis for control decisions and prediction of yield losses. The objectives of this study were to identify pathogen species, determine the temporal and spatial distribution patterns of downy mildew in corn plants, and determine its relationship to the level of yield loss. This study was conducted at the AELEFA IPB University experimental station, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency. Observations were made on 434 corn plants planted on an area of 100 m^2. Pathogen propagule samples were collected from symptomatic leaves in the field for morphological and molecular identification. Observation variables included disease intensity over 9 weeks, plant vegetative development, and harvest yield. The downy mildew pathogen was identified morphologically as Peronosclerospora maydis. The disease progression, both incidence and severity formed a sigmoid curve and showed a random spatial pattern with area under disease progress curve (AUDPC) values of 124 and 109, respectively. The disease incidence and severity reached 23%. Downy mildew is classified as a disease that causes total yield loss when a plant is infected individually by the pathogen. | - |
