Namun demikian pemupukan kalium nyata meningkatkan produktivitas edamame. Pemupukan kalium 100 kg KCl/ha menghasilkan produktivitas polong edamame 11 ton/ha. Edamame (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is a Japanese soybean cultivar with high potential to cultivate in Indonesia due to its agro-climatic suitability and high nutritional value. Demand for edamame on a global and domestic scale continues to increase, but Indonesia's contribution to the edamame market is still low. Attempts to increase production need to be supported by proper fertilization, especially on land that has been intensively fertilized and has the potential to accumulate nutrients. Potassium plays an important role as an enzyme activator, metabolite formation and plant resistance to abiotic stress. This research aims to study the effect of potassium fertilization on the growth and production of edamame on intensive agricultural land. The research was using a single-factor Randomized Block Design based on KCl fertilization in the field. KCl fertilization applied at four levels: 0, 50, 75 and 100 kg KCl/ha, with each treatment repeated three times. The used soils have very high exchangeable K. Parameters observed were growth and harvest parameters. The results showed that potassium fertilization had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, branches, and root nodules, wet and dry stover weight. However, potassium fertilization significantly increased edamame productivity. Potassium fertilization 100 kg KCl/ha resulted in edamame pod productivity of 11 tons/ha. |
