Management of Broiler Chicken Farming Business with Independent Closed House System at Berkah Putera Chicken.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of broiler chicken farming business with an independent closed house system at Berkah Putera Chicken. The methods used in data collection are direct interviews with business actors and field observations. In addition to the business system, this study also analyzes the performance of broiler chicken production which includes feed consumption, daily body weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), mortality rate, depletion, and performance index. This performance is an indicator of business efficiency and the success of chicken maintenance management. On the other hand, marketing strategies and financial aspects are also studied through analysis of total costs, revenues, income, net profit, break-even point, and revenue to cost ratio (R/C ratio). The results of the study showed that in the first period, the chicken performance was quite optimal with an R/C ratio of 1.34, indicating a profitable business. However, in the second period, there was a decline in performance due to an attack of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), which caused the R/C value to drop to 1.10. However, the business was still declared feasible because the R/C value remained above 1.

Analisis usaha peternakan ayam broiler dengan sistem closed house pola mandiri di Berkah Putera Chicken. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji sistem usaha yang terdiri dari input, proses, dan output. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah wawancara langsung dengan pelaku usaha serta observasi lapangan. Penelitian ini juga menganalisis performa produksi ayam broiler yang meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan harian, rasio konversi pakan (FCR), tingkat kematian (mortalitas), deplesi, serta indeks performa. Kinerja ini menjadi indikator efisiensi usaha dan keberhasilan manajemen pemeliharaan ayam. Di sisi lain, strategi pemasaran dan aspek finansial turut dikaji melalui analisis biaya total, penerimaan, pendapatan, dll. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada periode pertama, performa ayam cukup optimal dengan nilai R/C ratio sebesar 1,34, menunjukkan usaha menguntungkan. Namun pada periode kedua, terjadi penurunan performa akibat serangan penyakit Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), yang menyebabkan nilai R/C turun menjadi 1,10. Meskipun demikian, usaha masih dinyatakan layak karena nilai R/C tetap di atas 1.
