Of the estimated 1,5 million fungal species worldwide, around 2000 are edible and 700 have medicinal applications. However, wild mushrooms in Indonesia remain poorly documented. This study aimed to identify edible wild mushrooms, evaluate mushroom cultivation potential, and assess the antimicrobial activity of their extracts against human pathogens. Opportunistic sampling was used, followed by taxonomic identification through morphological and molecular analyses. Nutritional content and antimicrobial activity were assessed through proximate and disc diffusion methods. The identified species were Trichaleurina javanica, Oudemansiella canarii, and Cookeina speciosa. Only T. javanica produced sufficient biomass for nutritional analysis (30 g) and showed a protein content of 17.54%, a low fat content of 1.19%, along with other nutritional components. Cultivation trials of T. javanica and O. canarii on baglog media did not yield fruiting bodies. All three extracts exhibited antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Propionibacterium acnes, and Candida albicans, except C. speciosa, which showed no activity against S. aureus. |
