The demand for sweet corn in Indonesia is increasing along with the increase in population. Sweet corn imports in Indonesia in 2018-2019 increased by 42.46%, from 517.5 thousand tons to 737.2 thousand tons. This shows that sweet corn production is not sufficient for national needs. The low productivity of sweet corn is caused by cultivation techniques that are still inappropriate and the use of fertilizer that does not meet the recommended dosage. Damage to soil structure can occur due to improper soil processing and continuous use of inorganic fertilizers. Based on these problems, a sustainable fertilizer management strategy has been developed with a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers. For this reason, this research aims to determine the effect of biological fertilizer and NPK on the physical properties of inceptisol soil and the productivity of sweet corn (Zea mays L.). The design used was a completely randomized design with 8 treatments and 3 replications. The combination of NPK fertilizer and biological fertilizer with a dose of ¾ NPK + ¾ biological fertilizer has a significant effect on C-Organic, Total Pore Space (RPT), Pore Drainage, and can increase the weight of sweet corn cobs. Bulk Weight (BI), Aggregate Stability, Available Water Pore Space (RPAT) were not significantly different between the dose of ¾ NPK + ¾ biofertilizer and the full dose of 1 NPK + 1 biofertilizer. Thus, a dose of ¾ NPK + ¾ biofertilizer can be recommended as an effective fertilizer dose because a dose of ¾ NPK + ¾ biofertilizer can produce optimum sweet corn production and maintain soil fertility by improving the physical properties of the soil. |
