Industri kemasan fleksibel berperan penting mendukung berbagai sektor.
The flexible packaging industry plays a significant role in supporting various sectors. One type of packaging made from plastic materials often produces residual plastic waste that can no longer be reused, requiring a crushing process for resale. However, this process generates high noise levels due to the operation of crushing machines, which may negatively affect workers' hearing. This study analyzes the noise levels, distribution, and the correlation between noise exposure and workers' hearing capacity. The data required include noise level measurements and workers' audiometric test results. The research findings indicate that the total noise level in the crushing area is 81.31 dBA. Noise was found to spread into regions lacking sound barriers. Audiometry results indicate that some workers experience hearing loss in the 1000–8000 Hz range. Duration of exposure (working hours) affects the potential for hearing loss, even in younger workers. Furthermore, there is a difference in the impact on the hearing ability of the right and left ears. This study recommends the implementation of administrative controls, including a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for rotating worker assignments and stricter use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).-
