Biomassa Sawit Dengan Metode Soda Untuk Filtrasi CPO.
0.0103 ml/menit. Permukaan kertas yang superhidrofobik, membuat kertas efektif
dalam memisahkan kontaminan air dari minyak. ATHA HADAD ATSILAH. Synthesis and Characterization of Paper from Oil Palm Biomass Pulp Using the Soda Method for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Filtration. Supervised SITI NIKMATIN and HERIYANTO SYAFUTRA. The currently used filter paper is made from dissolving pulp, a special type of pulp with a high cellulose content of over 90%, which undergoes a more complex and costly production process compared to conventional paper pulp. Therefore, this study aims to produce crude palm oil (CPO) filter paper using oil palm biomass pulp (empty fruit bunch, EFB) through the soda method and analyze the material characteristics in terms of chemical, physical, and mechanical properties. Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB), as a waste product, can be processed into filter paper due to its high cellulose content of approximately 30-50%. The soda pulping and delignification methods are employed to remove lignin and hemicellulose from the cellulose fibers, resulting in cleaner pulp that is easier to further process for paper production. The highest cellulose content is found in samples treated with a 25% NaOH concentration during pulp cooking. The paper produced from EFB pulp exhibits a cellulose content of up to 78%, with physical properties that enhance oil filtration efficiency, achieving a porosity percentage of 90.42% and an oil flow rate of 0.0103 ml/min. The superhydrophobic surface of the paper makes it effective in separating water contaminants from oil. |
