Abstract: AMARA AQILA. Pengujian Daya Hasil Galur Mutan Padi Beras Hitam Hasil Mutasi Radiasi. Umur panen seluruh galur tergolong sedang. Kata kunci: antosianin, padi beras hitam, sifat agronomi, produktivitas
AMARA AQILA. Yield Trials of Black Rice Mutant Lines Obtained from Irradiation Mutation. Supervised by BAMBANG SAPTA PURWOKO of 1st Advisor and ARYANTI of 2nd Advisor. Public awareness of the importance of healthy living continues to increase over time. Consumption of black rice as functional rice is also increasing. Black rice contains anthocyanins which act as antioxidants. The breeding of new varieties needs to be done as an effort to improve agronomic characters that are still lacking in black rice cultivation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate agronomic traits and yield of black rice mutant lines. This study used a one-factor experiment in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Treatment consisted of 10 black rice lines obtained from radiation mutation, 3 control varieties/genotypes i.e. PsJ 1703-1, Diah Suci, and Jeliteng. The results showed that seven out of ten black rice mutant lines showed average productivity = 5 tons GKG ha?¹, which was descriptively comparable to or higher than the two control varieties (Diah Suci and Jeliteng), although the differences were not statistically significant. The qualitative character of the aleurone color of the 7 black rice lines tested was black while the other 3 lines had yellowish black aleurone. The lines has have good characters which are short generative plant height, moderate number of tillers, 1000 grains weight =25 g except MPH/OBS 37/btn and MPH/OBS 43-1/btn. The harvest age of all lines is classified as moderate. Keywords: anthocyanin, black rice paddy, agronomic traits, productivity
