| Abstract: | Transisi menuju energi terbarukan menjadi krusial bagi Indonesia dalam mencapai target Net Zero Emission 2060. The transition to renewable energy is crucial for Indonesia to meet its 2060 Net Zero Emission target. This study aims to produce high-resolution wind energy projections by applying dynamical downscaling to CMIP6 outputs using the RegCM5 model at a 25 km resolution. While EC-Earth3 was identified as the best-performing input, the downscaling process exacerbated the initial overestimation of wind speeds in the CMIP6 model. Consequently, the RegCM5 outputs required a statistical bias correction against ERA5 reanalysis data (0.25° x 0.25° resolution) before further analysis. The corrected ensemble projections for 2071–2100 show an increase in wind potential in the western region (southern Java), while a decrease is projected in the eastern region (southern Nusa Tenggara). This change is consistent with strengthening regional winds and a weakening Walker Circulation. These findings indicate a climate-driven redistribution of wind resources, directly impacting planned wind power projects and highlighting the importance of appropriate model parameterization and reliable bias correction in tropical energy studies. |
