| dc.description.abstract | Catfish production in Indonesia has shown a consistent upward trend, linearly correlated with the increasing level of domestic consumption. Organic waste generated from intensive aquaculture systems can negatively impact water quality and the health of cultured species. One potential approach to mitigate these effects is the combination of higher stocking densities with the supplementation of a mineral mix, which facilitates the degradation of organic matter. This study aims to analyze the effect of different stocking densities in culture media containing a mineral mix on growth performance and water quality over a 21-day rearing period. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD), with four stocking density treatments: 1,400 fish m-3, 1,900 fish m-3, 2,400 fish m-3, and 2,900 fish m-3. Observed parameters included water quality, production performance, and cost analysis. The results indicated that stocking densities of 1,400 fish m-3 and 1,900 fish m-3 supported optimal water quality and production performance throughout the culture period. Based on the cost analysis, the 1,900 fish m-3 treatment yielded the highest economic return. | |
