| Abstract: | Perusahaan Hutan Tanaman Industri di Kalimantan Barat dihadapkan pada
tuntutan pemenuhan standar sertifikasi seperti Indonesian Forestry Certification
Cooperation (IFCC) dan regulasi European Union Deforestation-free Regulation
(EUDR).
IFCC berdasarkan cut-off date.
berdasarkan kriteria cut-off date IFCC dan EUDR.
Industrial Forest Plantation companies in West Kalimantan are confronted with the demands of meeting certification standards such as the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) and the European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR). This research aims to analyze the dynamics of land cover change within industrial forest concession areas in West Kalimantan between 2010- 2020 and 2020-2023, and to evaluate its implications for IFCC certification eligibility based on the established cut-off dates. The research method is a spatial data-based analysis of land cover maps from 2010, 2020, and 2023 to calculate the extent of natural forest conversion. The results of this analysis were then evaluated against the cut-off date criteria of the IFCC and EUDR. The findings indicate that significant conversion of natural forests occurred during the 2010-2020 period. Another crucial finding is that conversion activities continued after 2020. The implication is that any post-2020 conversion could constitute a direct violation and a significant barrier for forest management units in fulfilling the requirements for IFCC certification and gaining access to the European Union market. |
