| dc.description.abstract | The improvement of protein utilization efficiency through heat processing has been widely studied, but its combination with defaunation agents has not been widely explored. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of roasted soybean supplementation and combined with papaya leaves, on in vitro fermentability and digestibility. A randomized block design was used, with grouping based on rumen liquor collection periods, and four treatments were applied: P1 (basal ration), P2 (P1 + 5% supplement), P3 (P1 + 10% supplement), and P4 (P1 + 15% supplement). Observed parameters included ruminal pH, VFA, NH3, protozoal and bacterial population, dry matter digestibility (DMD), and organic matter digestibility (OMD). The results showed that protein supplement 15% yielded the highest total VFA (139.25 mM) compared to the control (99.26 mM), while DMD (54.30%) and OMD (54.75%) were lower than those of the control group (58.23% and 58.95%). The conclusion is protein supplementation in the ration can increase VFA, reduce NH3 concentration, and maintain DMD and OMD at 10% inclusion level, without affecting ruminal pH, protozoal and bacterial population. | - |
