Abstract: CHANDRA GUMELAR. Optimalisasi Ketinggian Air untuk Pertumbuhan dan Kelangsungan Hidup Benih Ikan Sapu Sapu Helikopter Sturisoma panamense. Dibimbing oleh MUHAMMAD ARIF MULYA dan ANDRI HENDRIANA. Ikan Sturisoma panamense atau sapu-sapu helikopter merupakan ikan hias air tawar yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi, namun budidayanya masih menghadapi kendala, terutama pada fase benih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh ketinggian air terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan dan tiga ulangan terdiri dari perlakuan K dengan ketinggian air 20 cm, K10 dengan ketinggian air 10 cm dan perlakuan K30 dengan ketinggian 30 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan K30 dengan ketinggian air 30 cm menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan panjang harian tertinggi (0,54±0,01 mm), pertumbuhan panjang mutlak terbesar (16,10±0,17 mm), dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup 93,87±2,56%. Tingkah laku ikan juga menunjukkan aktivitas paling optimal pada ketinggian ini. Ketinggian air 30 cm pada wadah pemeliharaan direkomendasikan sebagai kondisi optimal untuk pendederan benih ikan sapu-sapu helikopter.

Sturisoma panamense, commonly known as the helicopter catfish, is a freshwater ornamental fish with high economic value. However, its cultivation still faces challenges, particularly during the fry phase. This study aims to examine the effect of water depth on the growth and survival of the fry of this species. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications, consisting of treatment control with a water depth of 20 cm, D10 with a depth of 10 cm, and D30 with a depth of 30 cm. The results showed that the D30 treatment with a water depth of 30 cm produced the highest daily length growth rate (0.54±0.01 mm), the greatest absolute length growth (16.10±0.17 mm), and a survival rate of 93.87±2.56%. Fish behavior also exhibited the most optimal activity at 30 cm depth. A water depth of 30 cm in the rearing container is recommended as the optimal condition for the nursery phase of helicopter catfish.
