| Abstract: | Kacang koro pedang (Canavalia spp.) merupakan tanaman dari famili Leguminosae yang berpotensi tinggi sebagai sumber pangan dan pakan karena kandungan nutrisinya yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keragaman genetik berdasarkan karakter morfologi dan agronomi dari genotipe kacang koro pedang koleksi IPB. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Cikarawang, Bogor, Jawa Barat, pada November 2024 hingga Mei 2025 menggunakan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) satu faktor genotipe yang terdiri dari 10 genotipe uji dan tiga ulangan. Karakter kuantitatif dan kualitatif diamati untuk menilai keragaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap karakter morfo-agronomi. Genotipe tipe merambat memiliki rataan karakter kuantitatif yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan genotipe tegak, kecuali pada umur muncul daun pertama, umur berbunga, diameter batang 1 BST, panjang polong, dan jumlah biji per polong. Genotipe Jinkooifeng menunjukkan performa agronomi terbaik, dengan bobot 100 biji sebesar 268,65 g, bobot satu biji 2,81 g, bobot biji per polong 27,87 g, dan bobot polong 49,06 g. Seleksi genotipe unggul dapat difokuskan pada karakter yang memiliki nilai heritabilitas arti luas dan koefisien keragaman genetik tinggi, seperti tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah dan bobot polong, serta bobot biji. Jack bean and sword bean (Canavalia spp.) is a promising legume commodity with high nutritional value, making it suitable for both food and feed. This study aimed to evaluate the genetic diversity of Canavalia spp. genotypes of the IPB collection based on morphological and agronomic traits. The experiment was conducted at the Cikarawang Experimental Field, Bogor, West Java, from November 2024 to May 2025, using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with a single factor of 10 genotypes and three replications. Both quantitative and qualitative traits were observed. The results showed that genotypes had a significant effect on morphological and agronomic traits. Climbing-type genotypes generally showed higher mean values for quantitative traits compared to erect types, except for traits such as days to first leaf emergence, flowering time, stem diameter at 1 MAP, pod length, and seeds number per pod. Jinkooifeng genotype exhibited the best agronomic performance, with a 100-seed weight of 268,65 g, single seed weight of 2,81 g, seed weight per pod of 27,87 g, and pod weight of 49,06 g. Selection of superior genotypes can be focused on traits with high broad-sense heritability and genetic coefficient of variation, such as plant height, stem diameter, number and weight of pods, and seed weight. |
