Distribution of slaughter chicken products is one of the supply chain activities that has an important role in maintaining on-time delivery and product quality. However, the distribution process at PT XYZ is currently still carried out manually without optimization calculations, thus risking inefficiencies in distance, time, and cost. This study aims to optimize broiler distribution routes using the Clarke and Wright Savings algorithm with the Nearest Insert sorting method. This optimization process considers vehicle capacity and total outlet demand to produce a more efficient distribution route. The results showed that this method was able to produce a route with a reduction in distribution mileage from 1,547.6 km to 1,282.5 km in a one-month period, or equivalent to 17.13% efficiency. In addition, there was a 17.92% saving in fuel costs, from Rp1,354,216 to Rp1,111,578 per month. This optimization approach not only reduces operational costs, but also improves the accuracy of distribution planning and supports product quality control through faster and more scheduled deliveries. The implementation of this method is expected to be applied sustainably to improve PT XYZ's overall logistics performance.
