| dc.description.abstract | Ubi kayu (Manihot esculenta Crantz) merupakan tanaman pangan yang mudah untuk dibudidayakan namun memiliki kendala dalam penyediaan bahan tanam. Kendala yang dihadapi yaitu periode simpan stek yang singkat dan kebutuhan dalam jumlah banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan periode simpan, panjang stek, serta kombinasinya yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan produksi yang optimum. Penelitian dilakukan bulan Oktober 2024 sampai Juli 2025 di Kebun Percobaan Cikabayan Bawah dan Laboratorium Mikroteknik, Kampus IPB Dramaga. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah periode simpan (0, 1, 2, 3, dan 4 minggu setelah panen), faktor kedua adalah panjang stek (10, 20, dan 25 cm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kedua perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman. Secara umum, tidak terdapat interaksi antara kedua perlakuan tersebut terhadap semua peubah pengamatan. Penyimpanan hingga 4 minggu masih mempertahankan stek tetap dalam kondisi segar dengan kadar air di atas 63%. Periode simpan sampai 4 minggu tidak memberikan respon yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan komponen hasil umbi. Penggunaan stek 20 dan 25 cm menghasilkan pertumbuhan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan 10 cm. Panjang stek 20 dan 25 cm menghasilkan pertumbuhan yang lebih baik dibandingkan 10 cm. Stek 25 cm menghasilkan bobot dan panjang umbi lebih tinggi dibanding 20 dan 10 cm. | - |
| dc.description.abstract | Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a staple food crop known for its ease of cultivation. However, its propagation faces challenges, particularly the short viability of stem cuttings and the high quantity required for planting. This study aimed to identify the optimal storage duration and cutting length, as well as their interaction, to enhance cassava growth and yield. The experiment was conducted from October 2024 to July 2025 at Cikabayan Bawah Experimental Station and the Micro technique Laboratory, IPB Dramaga Campus. A two-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was employed, with the first factor being storage duration (0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks post-harvest) and the second factor being cutting length (10, 20, and 25 cm). Results indicated that both factors significantly influenced plant growth and yield. No significant interaction was observed between the two factors across all measured variables. Cuttings stored for up to four weeks remained fresh, maintaining a moisture content above 63%, and showed no adverse effects on growth or yield components. Longer cuttings (20 and 25 cm) promoted better growth compared to shorter ones (10 cm), with 25 cm cuttings producing the highest tuber weight and length. | - |
