| dc.description.abstract | Castnet is one of the dominant fishing gears used by fishermen at the Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Muara Angke, Jakarta, particularly for catching squid (Loligo sp.). This study aims to identify the composition of main and bycatch species, analyze the catch production, and determine the seasonal fishing pattern of castnet operations over a five-year period (2020–2024). The research methods included direct observation, interviews using accidental sampling, and secondary data collection from PPN Muara Angke. Data were analyzed using the Fishing Season Index (IMP) and Simple Moving Average (SMA) methods as a time series approach to determine fishing seasonal patterns. The results showed that the catch composition was dominated by squid, accounting for 86% of the total catch, while bycatch included 22 other fish species. The highest catch production occurred in 2023 at 34,573,810 kg, and the lowest in 2020 at 26,669,092 kg. The IMP and SMA methods identified fishing seasons as occurring in February, June, July, August, September, and October, with the highest peak in June. | - |
