Abstract: Kemudahan paylater membuat masyarakat tertarik menggunakan paylater untuk mencapai tujuannya, padahal menggunakan paylater juga dapat memberikan risiko kepada masyarakat yang menggunakannya. Penelitian ini melibatkan responden dengan kriteria generasi milenial serta pernah atau sedang menggunakan paylater di Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh literasi keuangan digital, mental accounting, motivasi, dan promosi penjualan terhadap perilaku kehati-hatian paylater. Data diperoleh melalui pengisian kuesioner secara online menggunakan Google Form. Analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu analisis deskriptif, uji korelasi, dan analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Uji korelasi menunjukkan hubungan positif signifikan antara usia dengan literasi keuangan digital dan perilaku kehati-hatian paylater, domisili dengan literasi keuangan digital, pendapatan dengan mental accounting, serta hubungan negatif signifikan antara usia dengan motivasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa literasi keuangan digital, mental accounting, motivasi dapat menjadi faktor yang memengaruhi perilaku kehati-hatian paylater. Literasi keuangan digital memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap perilaku kehati-hatian paylater melalui motivasi. Promosi penjualan memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap perilaku kehati-hatian paylater melalui motivasi.
The ease of paylater makes people interested in using paylater to achieve their goals, even though using paylater can also provide risks to the people who use it. This study involved respondents with millennial generation criteria and have used or are using paylater in Indonesia which aims to analyze the effect of digital financial literacy, mental accounting, motivation, and sales promotion on paylater precautionary behavior. Data obtained through online questionnaires using Google Form. The data analysis used descriptive analysis, correlation test, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. The correlation test indicates a significant positive correlation between age with digital financial literacy and paylater precautionary behavior, domicile with digital financial literacy, income with mental accounting, and a significant negative correlation between age and motivation. This study indicates that digital financial literacy, mental accounting, and motivation can be factors that influence paylater precautionary behavior. Digital financial literacy has an indirect influence on paylater precautionary behavior through motivation. Sales promotion has an indirect influence on paylater precautionary behavior through motivation.
