Abstract: Nuri Maluku (Eos bornea) merupakan burung endemik Indonesia yang meskipun berstatus Least Concern (LC) menurut IUCN, tetap menghadapi ancaman seperti perusakan habitat, deforestasi, perdagangan ilegal, dan penangkapan liar.
The Red Lory (Eos bornea) is an Indonesian endemic bird species currently listed as Least Concern (LC) by the IUCN, yet still threatened by habitat destruction, deforestation, illegal trade, and poaching. One conservation effort being implemented is captive breeding at the Animalium BRIN in Cibinong, Bogor. This study aimed to assess the daily behavior, feed palatability, and daily economic value of feed as a basis for effective and efficient captive management. The scan sampling method was used to observe daily behavior at one-minute intervals, while the cafetarian feeding method was used to assess feed preference over 20 days. Research results showed that spatial use behavior was the most dominant activity (56%), with resting as the highest specific activity (42%), and defecation the least frequent (0.42%). Sugar water was the most preferred feed (36.37%), while mango was the least preferred (0.10%). The total daily feed requirement for eight Moluccan Red Lories was 5.5 kg, with a daily economic value of IDR 179,950.00, or approximately IDR 5,398,500.00 per month.
