| Abstract: | Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) merupakan komoditas perkebunan
ekspor minyak nabati. Namun, produktivitas tanaman kelapa sawit sering kali
mengalami gangguan akibat serangan Organisme Pengganggu Tumbuhan (OPT),
produktivitas tanaman. Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a strategic plantation commodity in Indonesia that plays an important role as a source of foreign exchange through vegetable oil exports. However, the productivity of oil palm plants is often disrupted due to attacks by Plant Disturbing Organisms (PGRs), one of which is the fire caterpillar pest (Setothosea asigna). This pest is known as a major leafeater that can reduce the photosynthesis process and negatively affect flower and fruit formation. One commonly used control method is fogging, which is spraying smoke from a mixture of diesel and active insecticides to eradicate pests. This study aims to assess the effect of fogging effectiveness on the control of caterpillar pests at various oil palm plant heights. The results of this study are expected to provide useful information for pest control strategies in oil palm plantations, especially in adjusting fogging application techniques based on plant height to increase control efficiency and plant productivity. |
