| Abstract: | Rendahnya tingkat keberhasilan teknik cangkok pada tanaman mamey sapote
(Pouteria sapota) disebabkan oleh lambatnya pembentukan akar, sehingga
diperlukan upaya peningkatan produksi bibit. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi
efektivitas ekstrak bawang merah sebagai perangsang akar alami serta kelayakan
finansial penggunaannya. Metode yang digunakan meliputi percobaan dengan dua
perlakuan cangkok, yaitu menggunakan dan tanpa ekstrak bawang merah, masing-
masing dengan 30 sampel, serta analisis data menggunakan uji t independen dan
analisis finansial (laba rugi dan rasio R/C). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak
bawang merah meningkatkan panjang akar hingga 5,37 cm dan persentase
keberhasilan cangkok mencapai 86,67%. Secara ekonomi, teknik ini meningkatkan
laba dan rasio R/C dari 1,1 menjadi 3,5. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah
bahwa ekstrak bawang merah efektif merangsang pertumbuhan akar dan layak
diterapkan sebagai alternatif alami dalam perbanyakan bibit mamey sapote secara
vegetatif. The low success rate of air-layering propagation in mamey sapote (Pouteria sapota) is primarily caused by slow root formation, limiting seedling production. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of shallot extract as a natural rooting stimulant and assess its financial feasibility. The research was conducted using two treatment groups: with and without shallot extract, each consisting of 30 samples. Data were analyzed using independent t-tests and financial analysis, including profit-loss calculations and the Revenue-Cost (R/C) ratio. The results showed that the application of shallot extract increased root length to 5.37 cm and raised the success rate of air-layering to 86.67%. Financially, it increased profit and improved the R/C ratio from 1.1 to 3.5. The study concludes that shallot extract is an effective and economically viable natural alternative for enhancing root formation and improving the vegetative propagation of mamey sapote seedlings. |
