| Abstract: | Jagung merupakan tanaman pangan terpenting ketiga di dunia. Sejumlah genotipe jagung diketahui memiliki kandungan minyak yang relatif tinggi. Prediksi kandungan minyak pada biji jagung hibrida dapat dilakukan menggunakan model yang berisi karakter agronomi dan biji. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi 136 hibrida jagung berdasarkan karakter agronomi, mempelajari potensi kandungan minyak tinggi pada hibrida-hibrida uji melalui model prediksi, dan mempelajari korelasi antara nilai prediksi kandungan minyak dengan karakter agronomi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan November 2024 hingga Maret 2025 di Kebun Percobaan Leuwikopo, IPB University. Bahan utama dalam penelitian ini menggunakan hibrida koleksi IPB yang terdiri dari 136 hibrida uji dan 6 varietas pembanding (BISI 18, P27, NK Perkasa, NK Sumo, P21 dan JHG 02). Percobaan menggunakan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak augmented dengan 8 ulangan untuk varietas pembanding dan satu ulangan untuk genotipe uji, sehingga seluruhnya terdapat 184 satuan percobaan. Genotipe uji berpengaruh nyata pada sejumlah karakter agronomi dan komponen hasil. Genotipe L41s X B4B memiliki nilai prediksi hasil yang relatif tinggi, sedangkan genotipe L26 X G10 memiliki nilai prediksi kandungan minyak yang paling besar. Kedua genotipe tersebut dapat diuji lebih lanjut di beberapa lingungan untuk mempelajari stabilitasnya. Maize is the world's third most important food crop. Several corn genotypes are known to have relatively high oil content. Predicting oil content in hybrid corn kernels can be performed using a model that incorporates agronomic and kernel traits. This research aimed to evaluate 136 corn hybrids based on agronomic traits, study the potential for high oil content using a prediction model, and study the correlation between oil content prediction and agronomic traits. The research was conducted from November 2024 to March 2025 at the Leuwikopo Experimental Station, IPB University. The genetic material in this research used hybrids of corn from the IPB germplasm, consisting of 136 test hybrids and 6 check varieties (BISI 18, P27, NK Perkasa, NK Sumo, P21, and JHG 02). The study used an augmented randomized complete block design with 8 replications for check varieties and a single replication for test genotypes, resulting in 184 experimental units. The test genotypes significantly affected several agronomic traits and yield components. Genotype L41s X B4B has a relatively higher predicted yield, whereas genotype L26 X G10 has a greater potential for high oil content. These two genotypes could be evaluated further in multiple environments to assess their stability. |
