Abstract: Pengendalian gulma merupakan usaha menekan pertumbuhan gulma dengan cara merusak bagian tertentu sehingga gulma mati atau pertumbuhannya terhambat. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan efektivitas pengendalian gulma berdasarkan gender tenaga penyemprot di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Parameter yang diukur meliputi waktu menyemprot satu pasar dan kualitas hasil semprotan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata waktu penyemprotan satu pasar oleh tenaga penyemprot laki-laki adalah 29 menit 40 detik, sementara oleh tenaga penyemprot perempuan adalah 30 menit 17 detik, dengan selisih waktu 37 detik. Analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata pada waktu penyemprotan (p-value 0,4928). Kualitas hasil semprotan tenaga penyemprot perempuan lebih tinggi dengan rata-rata keberhasilan penyemprotan sebesar 86,11%, dibandingkan tenaga penyemprot laki-laki sebesar 83,43%. Analisis statistik menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata pada kualitas hasil semprotan (p-value 0,0097). Berdasarkan uji statistik dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengendalian gulma pada penelitian ini lebih efektif dilakukan oleh tenaga penyemprot perempuan karena dengan rentang umur dan pengalaman kerja yang sama, kecepatan kerja keduanya tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata, namun kualitas hasil penyemprotan tenaga penyemprot perempuan jauh lebih bagus.
Weed control is an effort to suppress weed growth by damaging certain parts so that weeds die or their growth is inhibited. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of weed control based on the gender of sprayers in oil palm plantations. Parameters measured include time to spray one market and the quality of spray results. The results showed that the average time to spray one market by male sprayers was 29 minutes 40 seconds, while by female sprayers it was 30 minutes 17 seconds, with a time difference of 37 seconds. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference in spraying time (p-value 0.4928). The quality of spray results by female sprayers was higher with an average spray success of 86.11%, compared to male sprayers at 83.43%. Statistical analysis showed there was a significant difference in the quality of spray results (p-value 0.0097). Based on statistical tests, it can be concluded that weed control in this study is more effectively carried out by female sprayers because with the same age range and work experience, the speed of work of both shows no significant difference, but the quality of spray results of female sprayers is much better.
