| Abstract: | Kegiatan budidaya ikan hias, seperti ikan plati pedang (Xiphophorus helleri), sangat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor lingkungan, salah satunya adalah warna wadah pemeliharaan. The ornamental fish farming activity, such as for swordtail fish (Xiphophorus helleri), is greatly influenced by various environmental factors, one of which is the color of the rearing container. The color of the container can affect the intensity of light received by the fish and impact their body color brightness, growth, and physiological responses. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different container colors (transparent, black, white, and red) on the body coloration and growth of male swordtail fish. The experiment used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications, with each replication consisting of 20 fish. Observed parameters included blood glucose, oxygen consumption rate (OCR), visual color variation, color observation, survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), specific growth rate in length (SGRL), water quality, and business analysis. Statistical analysis using ANOVA showed that different container colors had a significant effect (p<0,05) on the enhancement of color intensity but had no significant effect (p>0,05) on the growth of male swordtail fish. The black container produced the best color intensity with color variation values of 73,91 ± 0,43% on the dorsal fin, 63,29 ± 2,07% on the caudal fin, and 74,55 ± 2,63% on the body. |
