Pakan perlakuan diberikan dua kali sehari at satiation.
This study aims to evaluate the effect of salt addition in feed on the growth performance of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with four treatments and four replications. The treatment involved adding salt to the feed formula at levels of 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%. Fish with an initial weight of 10.66 ± 0.01 g were stocked at a density of 30 fish per hapa (1 × 1 × 1 m) and maintained for 60 days. Fish were fed a diet twice a day at satiation. The results showed that increasing the addition of salt to the feed from 1% to 3% enhanced growth and improved the feed efficiency ratio, while reducing the feed conversion ratio. Increasing the addition of salt to 5% and 7% resulted in a decrease in fish growth and protein efficiency ratio, as well as an increase in feed conversion ratio, which led to a value below that of the treatment with 1% salt addition. The results of the orthogonal polynomial test showed that the optimal value of salt addition to striped catfish feed is 2.56%.
