Oil palm fronds are plantation by-products with potential as alternative forage for livestock. This study evaluated their physical quality as hay and silage and effects on ram performance as a substitute for napier grass (NG). Physical quality was tested using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and five replications. The performance trial used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) on rams (15.33?±?2.82?kg) with three treatments and four replications. The ration contained 30% forage and 70% concentrate. Parameters measured included specific gravity, bulk density, compacted density, angle of repose, nutrient intake, average daily gain (ADG), and feed efficiency. Results showed oil palm fronds had significantly lower physical quality (P<0.05) than NG hay. While total nutrient intake did not differ, oil palm fronds significantly affected (P<0.05) crude fiber intake, ADG, and feed efficiency. Oil palm fronds show potential as alternative forage but are not yet fully effective as a complete replacement for napier grass in ram diets.
