Chicken eggs are one of the main food sources in Indonesia, not only due to their affordability but also because of their high protein content. However, egg production in Indonesia is still considered suboptimal. One contributing factor to the decline in production is parasitic infestation, including both endoparasites and ectoparasites. Poultry farms are often ideal breeding grounds for flies, especially the housefly (Musca domestica), due to the presence of manure that supports larval development. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of different concentrations of the insecticide thiamethoxam in controlling housefly populations in layer chicken farms using an open house system. The research method involved preparing insecticide solutions, there were three treatments in this study, namely treatment A tiamethoxam solution with a concentration of 250%, treatment B tiamethoxam solution 10%, and treatment C water as a control, setting up fly traps, and counting the number of captured flies. Results indicated that both concentration A (250%) and concentration B (10%) of thiamethoxam were effective in reducing fly populations, although the difference between the two was not statistically significant (p = 0.085 > 0.05). In contrast, the comparison between group A and the control group (C) showed a significant difference (p = 0.009 < 0.05), while the comparison between groups B and C did not yield a significant result (p = 0.599 > 0.05).
