Analisis Hasil Pemeriksaan Penunjang Kasus Tumor Tiroid pada Anjing Shih tzu di Klinik Hewan My Vets

Abstract

Tumor tiroid merupakan pertumbuhan abnormal yang terjadi pada kelenjar tiroid dan dapat menyebabkan ketidakseimbangan produksi hormon tiroid. Salah satu tindakan yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi kondisi tersebut adalah thyroidectomy, yaitu pegangkatan sebagian atau seluruh kalenjar tiroid. Pemeriksaan fisiologis ataupun laboratorium sebelum dan sesudah operasi penting dilakukan untuk menilai keberhasilan dari suatu tindakan pembedahan. Data primer dan sekunder berupa anamnesa, sinyalemen, hasil screening darah, FNA dan X–ray diperoleh melalui rekam medis seekor anjing Shih Tzu jantan berumur 12 tahun yang menjalani operasi Thyroidectomy. Hasil analisis FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) terdapat sel seperti telur dengan nukleus besar dan susunan sel yang cenderung tidak beraturan. Hasil rontgen thorax menunjukkan adanya massa berbentuk oval dengan citra gambar lebih putih pada area ventral cervical yang menandakan adanya penebalan jaringan pada organ di area tersebut. Hasil kimia darah menunjukkan nilai ALP (Alkaline phosphatase) dan TBIL (Total bilirubin) di atas normal yang dapat mengindikasikan gangguan hati atau empedu. Hasil pemeriksaan T4 (Tiroksin) dan kolestrol menunjukkan perbedaan nilai T4 sebelum dan sesudah operasi Thyroidectomy.

Thyroid tumors are abnormal growths that occur in the thyroid gland and can cause an imbalance in thyroid hormone production. One of the procedures that can be performed to manage this condition is thyroidectomy, which involves the partial or complete removal of the thyroid gland. Physiological and laboratory examinations before and after surgery are essential to assess the success of the surgical procedure. Primary and secondary data, including anamnesis, signalment, blood screening results, FNA (fine needle aspiration) and X-ray findings, were obtained from the medical records of a 12-year-old male Shih Tzu dog that underwent a thyroidectomy. The FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) analysis revealed egg-shaped cells with large nuclei and an irregular cellular arrangement. The thoracic X-ray results showed an oval-shaped mass with a denser white image in the ventral cervical area, indicating tissue thickening in the organ within that region. Blood chemistry results showed elevated ALP (Alkaline phosphatase) and TBIL (Total bilirubin) levels, which could indicate liver or bile duct disorders. The T4 (Thyroxine) and cholesterol tests showed differences in T4 levels before and after thyroidectomy.
