Eretan waters as a center of fisheries, shipping, and industry experience changes in water quality dynamics and phytoplankton communities due to pollution loads from intensive anthropogenic activities. This study aims to evaluate the level of eutrophication based on the spatial-temporal distribution of phytoplankton and water quality in Eretan Waters, Indramayu, West Java. Sampling was conducted at six stations during the dry season (October 2024) and the rainy season (February 2025). Parameters observed included phytoplankton abundance, water quality, and trophic status using Nygaard's Diatom index and TRIX, supported by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and spatial mapping. Results showed the highest phytoplankton abundance of 439.4×106 cells/m³ occurred in the dry season and was dominated by Bacillariophyceae (81%). The Nygaard index classified all stations as mesotrophic, while TRIX showed variation from ultra-oligotrophic to hypertrophic. These findings highlight the ability of phytoplankton communities to reflect anthropogenic nutrient inputs and natural seasonal variations.
