| Abstract: | Transformasi komunikasi organisasi dari metode konvensional menuju
pendekatan berbasis digital telah menjadi kebutuhan strategis bagi instansi
pemerintah untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan responsivitas. Media sosial
WhatsApp, dengan tingkat penetrasi 90,9% dari pengguna internet Indonesia
(APJII, 2024), muncul sebagai solusi potensial dalam mendukung komunikasi
organisasi modern. Sentra Galih Pakuan, sebagai unit pelaksana teknis yang
menyelenggarakan
program Asistensi Rehabilitasi Sosial (ATENSI),
membutuhkan sistem komunikasi yang cepat, efisien dan dapat diandalkan.
Program ATENSI bertujuan membantu masyarakat yang mengalami masalah sosial
melalui layanan rehabilitasi sosial komprehensif, termasuk pemenuhan kebutuhan
dasar, perawatan sosial, dukungan keluarga, serta peningkatan kesejahteraan
masyarakat termasuk penyandang disabilitas dan lansia.
Adopsi WhatsApp sebagai solusi komunikasi organisasi di Sentra Galih
Pakuan diharapkan dapat menjembatani kebutuhan koordinasi yang kompleks dan
meningkatkan efektivitas komunikasi dalam pelaksanaan program ATENSI.
Penelitian ini menganalisis karakteristik individu terhadap efektivitas penggunaan
media sosial WhatsApp dan efektivitas penggunaan media sosial WhatsApp dalam
komunikasi organisasi di Sentra Galih Pakuan, dengan menguji pengaruh
karakteristik individu terhadap efektivitas komunikasi organisasi melalui
penggunaan WhatsApp. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan
pendekatan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling, penelitian ini
melibatkan 58 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Hasil
menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik individu berpengaruh signifikan terhadap
efektivitas komunikasi organisasi (koefisien jalur 0,229, p-value 0,036) dan
penggunaan WhatsApp berpengaruh sangat signifikan terhadap efektivitas
komunikasi organisasi (koefisien jalur 0,706, p-value 0,000). Analisis ukuran efek
mengungkapkan dominasi penggunaan WhatsApp dengan nilai f² sebesar 0,977
(kategori efek sangat besar), sementara karakteristik individu menunjukkan efek
yang lebih kecil (f² = 0,103). Penggunaan WhatsApp tidak memediasi pengaruh
karakteristik individu terhadap efektivitas komunikasi organisasi (nilai efek
mediasi 0,0113). Temuan ini konsisten dengan penelitian terdahulu yang
menunjukkan efektivitas tinggi WhatsApp sebagai media komunikasi organisasi
lintas berbagai sektor dan konteks. The transformation of organizational communication from conventional methods to digital-based approaches has become a strategic necessity for government institutions to enhance efficiency and responsiveness. WhatsApp social media, with a penetration rate of 90.9% among Indonesian internet users (APJII, 2024), emerges as a potential solution to support modern organizational communication. Sentra Galih Pakuan, as a technical implementing unit that administers the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI), requires a communication system that is fast, efficient, and reliable. The ATENSI program aims to assist communities experiencing social problems through comprehensive social rehabilitation services, including fulfillment of basic needs, social care, family support, and improvement of community welfare including people with disabilities and the elderly. The adoption of WhatsApp as an organizational communication solution at Sentra Galih Pakuan is expected to bridge complex coordination needs and enhance communication effectiveness in implementing the ATENSI program. This research analyzes individual characteristics toward the effectiveness of WhatsApp social media usage and the effectiveness of WhatsApp social media usage in organizational communication at Sentra Galih Pakuan, by examining the influence of individual characteristics on organizational communication effectiveness through WhatsApp usage. Using descriptive quantitative methods with a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling approach, this study involved 58 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. The results show that individual characteristics significantly influence organizational communication effectiveness (path coefficient 0.229, p-value 0.036) and WhatsApp usage has a very significant effect on organizational communication effectiveness (path coefficient 0.706, p-value 0.000). Effect size analysis reveals the dominance of WhatsApp usage with an f² value of 0.977 (very large effect category), while individual characteristics show a smaller effect (f² = 0.103). WhatsApp usage does not mediate the influence of individual characteristics on organizational communication effectiveness (mediation effect value 0.0113). These findings are consistent with previous research demonstrating WhatsApp's high effectiveness as an organizational communication medium across various sectors and contexts. |
